March Madness – Plant Oils

Every year, there are certain signs that we are exiting Winter and starting to experience Spring. The trees start to fill out with leaves, there are those days where you don’t have to leave your house with a winter coat (at least here in New England), and the sun starts to stay out longer and longer. Another sign that Spring is right around the corner is the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, also known as “March Madness”.

68 colleges and universities qualify for this single-elimination tournament, and it is one of the most popular annual sporting events in the United States. The teams are divided into four regions, and each region winner advances to the Final Four. At Jedwards, we figured we would get into the spirit by highlighting some of our products each week of the tournament. Over the next couple of weeks, we will highlight the following from each “region”: a crowd favorite, an overlooked item, and a new product. The first region we will go to is our Plant Oils.

In terms of plant-based oils, there are few that provide the versatility that Coconut Oil – Extra Virgin Organic (SKU: 1150) does. First, the fat structure of this oil makes it a very versatile cooking agent. The high saturated fat content makes it great for high-heat cooking, while the fatty acids present in coconut oil provide numerous health benefits. Also, virgin coconut oil has been proven to have antibacterial properties as well as being a superb skin moisturizer. No matter the application, you could easily provide our Coconut Oil – Extra Virgin Organic to a crowd and it would be a fan favorite!

Another great plant-based oil that sometimes is not truly appreciated for its many applications is our Rosehip Oil (SKU: S1510). Rosehip Oil is an amazing oil that is used throughout the cosmetic industry for numerous reasons. To start, the fatty acids located in the oil provide a great boost to your skin. These fatty acids are able to both hydrate and moisturize your skin, keeping the skin very healthy. Speaking of skin health, rosehip oil contains antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C, and E. These have been proven to combat sun damage, which we now know can lead to serious issues if not protected against. Finally, rosehip oil is a great carrier oil, which means it can dilute essential oils before they are applied to the skin.

One of our newest plant oil offerings is Coffee Oil – Roasted (SKU: S1154). Coffee is associated with energy and liveliness, and now some of those benefits can be found in an oil form! Our coffee oil is rich in fatty acids and thus makes it a great candidate for any type of anti-aging product. Also, it is clearly obvious that this oil would contain caffeine, but there is a hidden benefit that you may not realize. With caffeine being a natural diuretic, this product will reduce puffiness in the skin by drawing the water out. The scent of this product is iconic, and this will be a great addition to any type of lotion, serum, or other aromatherapy offerings you choose to make.

Every March, the sports world is introduced to iconic moments and teams during March Madness. Here at Jedwards, we wanted to show off some of our products in the hopes that they can be iconic for our customers. In the coming weeks we will highlight three other categories, but hopefully this post has illuminated some great plant oils we have to offer. Please review these products as well as all of our other offerings at!
