March Madness – Waxes

With the NCAA March Madness tournament coming to an end tonight, unfortunately so is our profile on just a small handful of our outstanding products. We have taken a look at some sweet plant oils and brought to the light some elite essential oils. Last Monday, we even featured some great butters. With that being said, we figured we would follow up on the butters post with another type of product that has a similar consistency: waxes!

When you think about the word waxes, there is a clear number 1: beeswax. We currently offer blocks of natural beeswax, as well as both white and yellow granules (conventional and organic). Beeswax can be used in a myriad of ways including the most common application: candle-making. Studies have shown that beeswax candles actually can help remove toxins from the air; they also burn brighter and slower than traditional candles. Beeswax is an integral part of the cosmetic and personal-care industries as well, and that is due to its water-repellent and anti-inflammatory properties.

Another great wax that is currently available is our Emulsifying Wax. The purpose of Emulsifying Wax is pretty straightforward: it works as a binding agent for oil and water. This is extremely useful when you are trying to make items such as lotions, moisturizers, and other personal care products. It would be a real pain if you went to apply your daily face moisturizer and all that came out was an oily mess. Luckily, we have two different offerings of this product! We have our Emulsifying Wax – NF; the NF in the product name means that this product meets National Formulary standards for emulsifying wax. Also, we have an organic offering (Emulsifying Wax – Organic) that would be perfect for any of your potential organic-certified products!

One of our newest products in the wax category is a potential lifesaver for candle-makers of all skill levels. We have added two new natural candle wax blends to our offering. Our Pillar Blend, which is an all-natural specialty wax blend, is great for making molded and scented pillar candles. Meanwhile, our Container Blend is the perfect blend for single-pour container candles, being comprised of soy, coconut, and beeswax. Both of these blends are extremely easy to use and can help even the most novice chandler make wonderful products!

Every year, March Madness sweeps over the nation and it seems like almost everyone is tuning in to see the next one shining moment. At Jedwards, we are extremely fortunate to have such a robust and high-quality number of products, so only selecting a couple of products was extremely challenging. I implore you to look over our entire product line, and see which products would work best for you! With the weather warming up, now is a perfect time to take that leap and start creating the products you have always thought of!
