Jedwards International was thrilled to be an exhibitor at the HSCG Conference, held in Dallas, Texas on May 16 through May 19, 2019. The location was the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, an awe-inspiring resort which left us impressed from the moment we walked into the lobby and ventured into the vast glass-domed courtyard. The resort included an authentic Texas experience complete with a colorful Riverwalk, conference center, shops, 10 bars and restaurants, 2 pools, a fitness center, night club and a water park!
The Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetic Guild conference is a highly anticipated annual event which merges avid hobbyists and representatives from successful, long standing businesses with a common desire to share soapand cosmetic industry knowledge. It’s an opportunity to make new connections and catch up with old friends who have been attending this event for years. This year started off with a bang on Thursday, May 16th, with seminars by well-respected speakers sharing their area of expertise combined with certification prep classes. Exhibitors gathered to assemble their booths, arrange their samples and swag and greet the attendees. The pace didn’t slow down during the entire conference. For four action packed days, from 7:00am on, there were shared meals, seminars, classes, certification testing and speakers. There were fun social events, like a hoe-down with costumes and karaoke.
For the run of the conference, we were lucky enough to chat with attendees; conference veterans, existing customers and newbies alike. We brought an array of samples of ournatural, raw ingredients, free gifts which included Jedwards International sunglasses for those bright Dallas days, and Jedwards lip balm made with our own organic ingredients. We introduced a fun “Spin to Win” game for lucky winners to have the chance to spin the wheel for Jedwards prizes. The prizes included vouchers for $25 gift cards, 15% off an order, one free gallon, a “mystery prize” and $250 free shipping. The eight lucky winners were thrilled to have a “live video” taken while spinning the wheel, which was posted to various Jedwards social media venues. We also provided to all HSCG conference attendees a $500 free shipping coupon which has become a cherished gift,year after year.
Exhibiting at the HSCG conference for the first time, from across the pond, was Stephenson Personal Care representatives who entertained attendees’ questions at their booth and
were featured as speakers at one ofthe forums. Jedwards International is a proud supplier of Stephenson Melt & Pour Soaps and were thrilled to have them in attendance.
In addition, there were award ceremonies celebrating the winners of handmade soap categories, and other assorted contests. Jedwards International was the recipient of an HSCG membership award honoring ten years of support. By the time the booths were packed up and prepared to ship home, the Jedwards team was basking in the success of the conference and looking forward to reaching out to new contacts and planning next year’s HSCG event, in Hartford, CT.
